Teak Wall Unit by McIntosh
This handsome teak drinks and display cabinet by the McIntosh Company of Scotland--best known for its mid century designs--combines both form and function. From 1948 until 1983, Tom Robertson, head designer for the firm, created his most notable design, the teak Dunvegan sideboard (1960s) known for its sculpted handles, which this piece features. It has outstanding storage capability with two lower cabinets, three drawers, a pull down bar or desk area, open shelving as well as shelving behind smoked-glass sliding doors. Lights illuminate some of the shelves. (Lights are in working order although one of the switches can stick on occasion.) In very good vintage condition with a slight dark patch on credenza top and one area of veneer repair. The piece can be separated into two pieces for transport. Clips in back secure top to base when in place. McIntosh label affixed.
