Royal System Wall Unit
The Royal System was designed in 1948 by legendary Danish designer and manufacturer Poul Cadovius; one of the world's first wall hung furniture systems. The system consists of wall-mounted rails, shelves with brass hangers and various modues such as cabinets, drawers and desks. The system was also produced under license in many countries. This particular unit is walnut and probably US made and consists of two bays of three rails, five shelves, a cabinet with sliding doors and a desk cabinet that opens out with a key. The shelves and cabinets have minor age-appropriate marks in the finish. The box sides have uneven finish--see photos. There are a few extra holes drilled in the rails. A stunning and terrific space-saving set of shelves.
